Custom Minifigures

While LEGO provide lots of different minifigures in their sets there is a growing trend in making Lego Custom Minifigures. This may be as simple as painting your own designs onto a minifigure or going to the extent of moulding your own parts.

There are companies like Brickarms who mainly produce custom weapons from M21 Sniper Rifles to chrome plated revolvers, but Brickarms have also produced minifigures too such as these two below that I bought a while ago. I don’t think you can get these particular figures anymore but there is another brand of minifigure called COBI that make several military figures.

As custom designed minifigures are usually one offs or are available in limited quantities, it can be hard to get hold of them and they aren’t usually too cheap, but they are fun things to create.

My favourites that I’ve seen for sale are the custom star wars minifigures. Being a big fan of Star Wars, I like the range of Star Wars characters that LEGO produce, but seeing what people have done to further extend the characters or improve what LEGO produce as standard is great.

I haven’t tried making any custom minifigures yet, I don’t seem to have the time, but more importantly, I don’t think I’ve got the skill to do it well. I’d be really interested in seeing your custom minifigures though.
