The Clone Wars TV Series
Reports over night have suggested that The Clone Wars TV Series is set to end. It is not yet clear what will happen to the unaired finished episodes, those partway through production, or if they will try and tie the show up with a direct to DVD\Blu-ray movie.
Hopefully we will see Season Six to tide us over until the new Sequel Trilogy. In the initial press releases, we were only getting 100 episodes over four seasons. With more than 100 over five seasons, perhaps we have been lucky. Could the departure of Ahsoka Tano at the end of Season 5 be a fitting end?
So what does this mean for the future of the Star Wars LEGO theme? As we know a 10 year contract has just been agreed so the theme will continue, and The Walt Disney Company have announced plans for Star Wars Episode VII, with a release in 2015, followed by Episode VIII and Episode IX.
After five highly successful and critically acclaimed seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, we feel the time has come to wind down the series. While the studio is no longer producing new episodes for Cartoon Network, we’re continuing production on new Clone Wars story arcs that promise to be some of the most thrilling adventures ever seen. Stay tuned for more information on where fans can soon find this bonus content.
The Clone Wars TV Series ending will leave the LEGO designers scratching their heads for new inspiration for a couple of years, so I would imagine we will see a lot more old sets getting a revamp and perhaps Star Wars The Old Republic being more prominent?
