Minifigures Series 4 Lawn Gnome
Posted on | July 23, 2011 | No Comments |
This little fella is a garden or lawn gnome from the LEGO Minifigures Series 4 set.
He comes with a fishing rod too, but I just chose not to include it in the photo. The bright colours of the hat, jacket and trousers make this figure stand out despite the diminutive stature of the little gnome.
With a different colour hat and trousers, there is also a certain Santa Claus look about him too, so maybe there will be a festive photo or two later this year.

Minifigures Series 4 Kimono Girl
Posted on | June 25, 2011 | No Comments |
This is one of my favourite figures from the LEGO Series 4 Minifigures, the Kimono Girl. I think they have got this just right, even though it’s still a fairly basic figure, the detail and the colours, and the fact that LEGO chose to use a white face with the red lipstick and the addition of the fan makes this one of the figures that stands out the most in my opinion.
It’s not as easy to see from the photo, but this figure doesn;t have the traditional legs a minifigure usually has, but more of a solid piece to simulate a long dress.
Good work LEGO.

Minifigures Series 4 Ice Skater
Posted on | June 24, 2011 | 2 Comments |
This is the glamorous looking Ice Skater, with a slightly scary forced smile, from the Series 4 Minifigures from LEGO. Like the Ice Hockey player, she sports the little ice skates but unlike the Ice Hockey player, the outfit is a lot skimpier.
As minifigures go, this isn’t particularly unique, perhaps the only feature of note is the blonde hair, but that’s nothing really special. Still, any figure is a welcome part of my growing collection.

Minifigures Series 4 Hockey Player
Posted on | June 23, 2011 | No Comments |
By hockey, LEGO obviously mean ice hockey and not the hockey we in the UK might think about. This is the hard looking Ice Hockey Player from the Series 4 Minifigures.
I love the little ice skates, a very clever way of doing them. The shoulder pads are a moulded unit that sits over the body and the face guard on the helmet is a nice detail too. Like some of the other sports related figures, getting enough for a whole team is quite tempting but I’ll concentrate on different figures for now to improve my collection.

Minifigures Series 4 Hazmat Guy
Posted on | June 22, 2011 | No Comments |
This is a rather nervous looking dude in a Hazmat suit. We don’t know what the hazardous situation is that he has been brought in to sort out. Maybe it was caused by the Crazy Scientist and one of his mad experiments, we just don’t know.
The expression on the face is what throws up all the questions, if it was just a normal smiley face then it wouldn’t have the same impact. The suit itself is mainly one moulded part for the helmet and breathing apparatus, but I think the bright colours and the face make this a great minifigure for anyones collection.

Minifigures Series 4 Crazy Scientist
Posted on | June 21, 2011 | No Comments |
This is the Crazy Scientist from the Minifigures Series 4 and as you can see he is pretty crazy looking. He looks to me like one of those super villains that you might see in a Bond film or perhaps an Austin Powers film is more suitable.
The hair on this figure is not the normal hard plastic you find on other figures, but a softer rubber, the same as they used for Kit Fisto’s head in the Star Wars sets. You can see the goggles and scary looking potion he’s holding too, so who knows what mad capped plan he is devising and whether world domination is on the cards or maybe it’s just a cure for hayfever.

Minifigures Series 4 Artist
Posted on | June 20, 2011 | No Comments |
This Artist figure is from the Series 4 Collectors Minifigures from LEGO. He has all the stereotypical features of an artist, the beret, the tiny beard, the neckerchief and of course the paint covered clothes.
I’m not sure what masterpiece he might be creating or whether he is purely making a birthday card for his mum, but I like to think it will be something grand and LEGO related.

Minifigures Series 3 Racing Driver
Posted on | June 19, 2011 | No Comments |
This is the Racing Driver from the Series 3 Minifigures. As you can see he is sporting the bright red racing overalls with the Octan logos across them. You may have noticed Octan appearing on other figures as sponsors. It’s the LEGO fictional fuel company that started life in 1992.
I’m glad LEGO thought to provide the hair and crash helmet as it would have been a bit of a cop out just to have him with the racing crash helmet, maybe they thought he would look too much like one of the spacemen figures.

Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine
Posted on | June 19, 2011 | No Comments |
After the birth of Leia and Luke, the remaining Jedi were forced to go into hiding. Obi-Wan took Luke to Tatooine where he gave the baby to Owen Lars and his wife Beru to raise. Obi-Wan would watch over them and live in a remote house as Ben Kenobi.
In his earlier life he was a significant character in many battles and was also the first Jedi in a 1000 years to defeat a Sith Lord when he killed Darth Maul. After the chance meeting with the two droids C-3PO and R2-D2 he once again was involved when he ended up on the Death Star and for the second time had to fight Darth Vader. This time, however, he gave his life to allow Luke and Leia to escape the Death Star. He disappeared into the Force coming back to speak to Luke in later years.
There have been many Obi-Wan figures over the years and this is one of several that I have in my collection.

Minifigures Series 3 Alien
Posted on | June 18, 2011 | No Comments |
This is a strange little character, quite cute when you first look at it but on closer inspection it actually looks quite sinister with those pointy teeth and the ray gun. This is the LEGO Minifigures Series 3 Alien and is the first time I’ve seen this style head on a minifigure. I’ve seen it used since in the LEGO Space Police sets but I don’t know which came first, this character or the space police ones.
As a minifigure, the only thing that’s different from a normal minifigure is the head. Still not sure I’m a big fan of the specifically moulded heads for minifigures, but then again there is only so much that can be done with a little yellow head.
